Lubbock police have released dramatic 911 audio describing a gunshot heard at 2nd St. and Boston on Monday night.

One caller said, "There's a guy outside, I think he shot a gun at his girlfriend and he's in there beating her up right now. He's right out in the middle of the street."

The caller describes a gray Jaguar at the scene.

26-year-old Matthew Torrez was taken into custody on Tuesday, charged with the murder of 32-year-old Vanessa Alcorte.

Police were initially called to a report of shots fired at 2nd and Boston, and then an hour later to reports of a body found at West Fork Mobile Home Park located in the 2800 block of North Quaker.

When they arrived on scene, they found Alcorte in a vehicle, apparently dead from a gunshot wound.

The Lubbock Medical Examiner is still working to determine the official cause of death.
