The heavy rain across Lubbock County means we'll likely have fireworks sales this Fourth of July.
Emergency Management Coordinator Clinton Thetford tells us that he's met with commissioners and county firefighters.
They agreed that due to the rain, a burn ban should not be necessary for the next 60 to 90 days.
That would clear the way for fireworks.
In Hale County, commissioners say they also don't need to issue a burn ban, at least for now.
County Judge Bill Coleman says they should be good for the next couple of weeks.
But, according to the Plainview Herald, commissioners could still ban, or restrict the sale of fireworks before the Fourth of July.
A decision would need to be made by mid-June, so those who run fireworks stands can cancel or adjust orders.
