The Lubbock Medical Examiner has determined that human remains found on a road in North Lubbock County are the remains of a missing Lubbock woman.
Lubbock police believe 62-year-old Shelley Myers Jordan was the victim of a homicide. Her husband, Danny Mack Jordan, 65, has been arrested and charged with murder.
Jordan was last seen on Monday morning. Police found blood inside Jordan's home, leading them to believe "foul play" was involved.
The remains were found on Thursday afternoon around 5800 North Frankford, just down the street from Danny Jordan's home.
On Friday afternoon we spoke with Sean Huntsman, the victim's son-in-law. He told us the family had been expecting this news.
Huntsman says that three and a half years ago Danny Jordan was declared mentally incompetent. He says doctors believed that Danny Jordan had a form of dementia.
Shelley Jordan was appointed as Danny's legal guardian in 2011. Two years later, Shelley and Danny moved from their home on North Frankford into the home on Detroit Avenue. That's where Shelley's daughter found blood on the wall under her home office desk on Monday.
Huntsman thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers at this time.
We'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
