Clovis armed robbers sentenced to prison

Ninth Judicial District Attorney Andrea Reeb announced that Royal Donald Jones, age 33, and Angel Heard, age 24, both of Albuquerque, were sentenced this week for their role in an armed robbery in Clovis on November 27, 2012.

Around midnight, residents in Clovis were robbed of money and jewelry at gunpoint by Jones and Heard. Both suspects were apprehended and later arrested by the Clovis Police Department

This week, The Honorable Stephen K. Quinn sentenced Angel Heard to five years in prison for accessory to robbery and trafficking controlled substances. Quinn also sentenced Jones to nine years in prison for armed robbery and trafficking controlled substances.

Chief Deputy District Attorney, Brian Stover, prosecuted the cases for the State of New Mexico.
