Red Raiders shock top seed Miami

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Freshman pitcher Dylan Dusek pitched eight innings, giving up no runs and just four hits as the second seeded red Raiders knocked off host and top seeded Miami 3-0 on Saturday night in the NCAA Regional.

Tech is now in the driver's seat, as they are the only team left in the Miami regional that is undefeated, and they are now in the Regional Final.

The Hurricanes will now play Bethune-Cookman on Sunday in an elimination game. The winner will have to beat the Red Raiders twice, beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday night and then again on Monday.

The Red Raiders (42-18) are the first team to shut out the Hurricanes in the post-season since Texas A&M did it in 1995.

Meanwhile, the Miami regional winner plays the Florida regional winner in the super regional. Host Florida was eliminated on Saturday, losing two straight games, so the super regional will not be in Gainesville, Florida.
