Miami comes back to win suspended game

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Texas Tech had a 1-0 lead in the 8th inning when Sunday night's suspended game resumed Monday afternoon. But the Red Raiders were unable to get the final five outs necessary to secure their first Regional Championship, instead falling 2-1 in 10 innings.

It took Miami all of three batters to tie the game in the 8th inning as back-to-back hits gave Miami runners at 1st and 3rd. Miami tied the game on a fielder's choice ground ball to Ryan Long at 3rd. Long tried to throw the runner out at home but the Hurricane runner was safe at the plate.

The 1-1 score held until the top of the 10th inning when Miami used a 1-out double to bring home the go-ahead run.

Texas Tech and Miami will now turn right around to play a winner-take-all Regional Championship game beginning at 3:05 p.m. CT Monday afternoon.
