LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

If the Red Raiders win the Super Regionals this weekend, it won't be the first time Lubbock is represented in a world series.

You might remember, 7 years ago, a Lubbock little league team became a contender in the Little League World Series.

70% of the players on the Lubbock Western All-Stars now play at the college level.

Stephen Smith is one of them. He is now the center fielder for the Red Raiders.

If Texas Tech makes it to the College World Series, Smith could see a familiar face on the diamond. Garrett Williams and Tyler Thorne also played for the Lubbock Western All-Stars.

Williams is now a pitcher for Oklahoma State. Thorne is a pitcher for Stanford.

Both teams also have a chance to make it to the College World Series.
