Tech beats Charleston 1-0, headed to College World Series

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Adam Kirsch drove in Tyler Neslony with a fourth inning double, and the Texas Tech pitching staff did the rest.

For the second straight day, the Red Raiders shut out the College of Charleston, posting consecutive 1-0 victories and advancing Texas Tech to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, for the first time in program history.

Freshman pitcher Dylan Dusek pitched 5 plus innings of shut-out baseball before giving way to a series of Tech relievers, all of which doing their part to keep the Cougars off the board. But it didn't come without plenty of help from its defense.

Devon Conley in center field made two incredible plays, including a full-extension diving catch to end a seventh inning threat for the Cougars.

This marks the third straight shut-out for the Red Raiders in the NCAA's and four of the last five games. Lowering the team ERA to 0.67.

Texas Tech is now off to Omaha, where they'll play the TCU/Pepperdine winner from the Fort Worth Super Regional.
