Pick-up collides with semi in Oregon

OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A pick-up truck and tractor-trailer collided at the corner of North Curtice and Jerusalem Roads just after 7 PM on Sunday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the driver of a blue pick-up truck was weaving in and out of traffic and clipped several vehicles.

His truck eventually collided with a semi-truck traveling in the opposite direction.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Witnesses say the crash could have been much worse.

"It would have been head-on but the driver of the semi turned at the last second to make it a broadside instead of a head-on. Would have been horrible," said Larry Weseman, who witnessed the crash.

Troopers say the accident remains under investigation but they suspect the pick-up driver had been drinking.
