As proud Members representing two teams competing in the College World Series, Rep. Randy Neugebauer and Rep. Roger Williams announced today the establishment of the 2014 Congressional Baseball Challenge.
"We want to bring attention to the fact that our schools, Texas Tech University and Texas Christian University, are among the eight elite teams playing in the CWS in Omaha," Neugebauer said. "Every day, I am proud to be a Red Raider with my ‘Guns Up' in Washington. I am excited to take on this challenge with Rep. Williams because Tech has the best fan base in the country, and I am confident that we are going to beat TCU."
Depending on the outcome of the game between TTU and TCU, the losing Member agrees to appear in the winning school's jersey in Washington, D.C.
In hopes of drawing increased excitement and attention to the series, Tech fans are encouraged to use #TTUbeatTCU to promote school pride during the Congressional Challenge.
Please join Texas Tech University and Rep. Randy Neugebauer in ensuring that Red Raider pride covers the country.
Neugebauer finished, "It's a great time to be a Red Raider! Wreck ‘em."
