Authorities seize synthetic marijuana in afternoon raid

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock County District Attorney Matt Powell warned sellers that he planned to crack down on synthetic marijuana, and Thursday afternoon, he did just that.

Police conducted a raid at the Smokin J's on 50th and Quaker around 2 p.m., confiscating bags and bags of synthetic marijuana.

This business is just one of 53 Lubbock smoke shops that received a letter from the city last Friday.

The letter listed the names of synthetic marijuana brands and warned that stores will be prosecuted if they're caught selling the product.
