Road resurfacing to block off six major thoroughfares

Starting on Monday, the city of Lubbock will begin applying micro-surfacing and cape seal on major thoroughfares in town.

For the next month, these six major thoroughfares will either be under construction or blocked off:

  • 82nd St. from Frankford to Elgin Ave.
  • 82nd St. from University to Ave. U.
  • University Ave. from 82nd to 98th St.
  • Indiana Ave. from the South Loop to 98th St.
  • Quaker Ave. from the South Loop to 82nd St.
  • University from the South Loop to 50th St.

The road work will happen in phases. However, during the four to six week process, the city of Lubbock urges drivers to allow extra time during your commute for delays, or to find an alternate route.
