OAK CREEK, AZ (CBS5/AP) -

A wildfire in northern Arizona's Oak Creek Canyon is now fully contained.

The Junipine Fire which began Monday, just north of the Slide Fire that charred 31 square miles last month, was fully contained Tuesday night, according to Coconino National Forest spokesman Brady Smith.

There was an infrared flyover to check the acreage and the fire never grew beyond seven acres, Smith said.

Forest officials said Tuesday that residents could expect an increase in smoke after a pocket within the Slide Fire rekindled in the West Fork area.

The Junipine Fire started about 3:15 p.m. Monday, believed to have been sparked by a downed power line.

Authorities went door-to-door in Junipine warning residents to flee the path of the wildfire.

Coconino County Sheriff's officials said the Junipine Lodge and about a dozen nearby homes were under a mandatory evacuation order and a shelter was opened at Sinagua Middle School in Flagstaff.

Sedona Fire Department spokesman Gary Johnson said the Junipine Fire is located south of Junipine Estates.

The state Department of Public Safety has closed Highway 89A at Slide Rock State Park.

Forest officials said no structures were damaged and no one was injured.
