Gayle Hastings is distraught. "I feel lonely, I feel sad," she said.
Two days ago (on Monday) one of her closest friends, 46-year-old Sheila Austin, was the victim of a hit and run. "It's really sick for somebody to do something like this and keep going," she said.
"She had lost a lot of blood," said neighbor Emma Bowden, the first to find Sheila. "Did she say anything?" we asked. "She wasn't saying anything," she said.
"We lost somebody there. Somebody we loved," said Sheila's cousin, with a message for the man or woman responsible. "Where's your heart? Tell someone other than Jesus. Tell 'em you was wrong, you took a life," she said.
