Valedictorian - Hannah Victoria Smith

Hannah is the daughter of Kyle & Shelly Smith and has attended PCA for 13 years.  She has been involved the Student Council, serving as Chaplain for 2 years as well as historian and senior Vice-President.  In Volleyball, she was awarded all-district MVP for Libero for two years.  In basketball her freshman year, she was 2nd team all-district, her Sophomore year she was all-district Honorable mention, her junior year was 1st team all-state, 1st team all-academic team, 1st team all-district, and all-district MVP; her senior year she was all-state all tournament team, all state all academic team, 1st team all state, and 1st team all district.  In golf, she was 3rd in team golf as a sophomore, 2nd as a team her junior year and top 10 in state.  In track she was a regional qualifier as a sophomore.  She is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars, she was the 2014 Homecoming Queen, and has completed a half marathon.  In Choir she was involved in several musicals.  In the community, she is a member of the Hale County Junior Literacy Council, a Covenant Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer, has served Meals on Wheels, was the Lions Club Queen, participated as the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy Camp, and has been a pianist and singer for the First Baptist Church Floydada Youth Worship Band.  She has received the Lions Club Local and District Scholarship, the Rotary Student of the Month Scholarship, the Elks Lodge Scholarship, the Carr Scholarship through Angelo State University, the Literacy Council Scholarship.  She is the high school Tomorrow's Leader Award Winner for this year and received the Floydada Rotary Scholarship.  Hannah plans to attend Angelo State University majoring in Nursing and specializing in Neonatal Nursing.  She attends First Baptist Church in Floydada.  She will be receiving the distinguished diploma and is graduating with honors. Hannah is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2014.
