Karlie Alena Herrera is the daughter of Carlos and Patricia Herrera. She has been named the Valedictorian of the class of 2014. While in high school, Karlie has participated in UIL, cheerleading, cross country, basketball, track, and tennis. She has been a member of the National Honors Society for two years. She has served on Student Council as Secretary her sophomore year and vice president her junior year. She also served as Class President for the last three years, and has been a member of FCCLA and Upward Bound.
Her plans are to attend South Plains College in the fall, and then transfer to Texas Tech University to earn a degree in Pre-Medicine. Her future goal is to become an Ob/Gyn., and Karlie plans to carry out her goal in Hollister, California.
As Valedictorian, Karlie receives a tuition scholarship from South Plains College as well as a South Plains College Foundation Scholarship and The Sam Burnett Memorial Scholarship awarded by Morton Classroom Teachers Association.
