Lubbock Sheriff's OfficeOne person is hospitalized and another is behind bars after a drunk driving accident in Lubbock overnight. It happened just after 12:30 Thursday morning in the 5500 block of Avenue P. Police say the driver lost control of the car and hit two utility poles, snapping them in half.
Janie Franco, a passenger in the car, is listed in serious condition at this hour. While the driver of the car 25-year-old Angel Garcia was arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated.
Some residents in the area lost electricity due to the crash. Utility crews managed to restore power a few hours later.
