1 killed in Castro County wreck

CASTRO COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -

One person is dead following an accident in Castro County.

Officials say that the accident occurred on US Highway 385, south of Hereford, at 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

They say a freightliner towing a trailer, driven by 53-year-old Octavaino Cortinaz Jr. of Lubbock, was traveling southbound and a Chevy Suburban, driven by 65-year-old Larry Condra of Abilene, was traveling northbound when Condra crossed over the center line, hitting Cortinaz head on.

Condra was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Cortinaz was treated for his injuries and released.
