Lubbock police searching for early morning shooting suspect

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police are investigating a shooting that happened early Friday morning.

Police say that one person was shot at the corner of 3rd and Eklhart around 3 a.m.

They say the victim and suspect met at the corner when the suspect demanded the victim's property, pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the thigh.

Police say the victim ran to a friend's house and was then transported to Covenant Medical Center.

His name and condition have not been released.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-6-inch to 5-foot-8-inch black male weighing around 160 to 170 pounds.

He was last seen driving a light blue Ford Focus.

An investigation is ongoing.
