Teen shot in Hermitage parking lot

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A 19-year-old man was shot in a Hermitage parking lot Sunday night.

Police said the victim, who has not been identified, was going to visit his mom around 10 p.m. He was walking through a parking lot on Lewis Street when a black Chevy stopped. A guy jumped out of the car and started shooting.

The victim was shot once in the back. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was treated and released.

Police are searching for the gunman or motive behind the shooting.

According to police, the teen has a long criminal history.
