NAPA COUNTY, CA (KGO/CNN) - Thick, acrid smoke filled the sky on Tuesday as a wildfire threatened homes outside the town of Napa.

Authorities ordered some 150 residences evacuated.

Dry, windy conditions helped fuel the blaze.

The fire grew to about 2,500 acres in a matter of hours on Tuesday and was about 30 percent contained.
