Incoming TTU Chancellor Robert Duncan resigns from Texas State Senate

AUSTIN, TX (KCBD) - Incoming Texas Tech Chancellor Robert Duncan officially resigned from the Texas State Senate on Thursday.

Duncan thanked his staff and colleagues on Twitter.

Duncan said, "Serving in the senate and representing West Texas was truly rewarding. Thank you to my constituents, who allowed me to work on their behalf."

Duncan served in the senate for 17 years.

Texas Sen. Robert Duncan was approved as chancellor by the Board of Regents of the Texas Tech University System on June 12. He will begin his duties as the system's fourth chancellor on July 7.
