Zaida Hernandez is recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of the Year for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession

Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 04, 2014

NAPW honors Zaida M. Hernandez, Principal for Chicago Public Schools, as a 2014 professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized for leadership in education with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.

Zaida Hernandez came up the ranks within the Chicago public school system starting as a kindergarten teacher, classroom teacher and bilingual coordinator. As a bilingual coordinator she spent much of her day mentoring and collaborating with other teachers. The transition from classroom teacher to coordinator was slow, says Ms. Hernandez.

Eventually the process bore fruit as Ms. Hernandez found the gradual process of an unhurried learning pace became a benefit to teachers and students alike. The teachers came to understand the different learning styles of each student, which ultimately resulted in better grades.

Now in her position as Principal, Ms. Hernandez will use her experience as a teacher to offer innovative educational programs. A dedicated professional, she will continue to keep pace with the exciting challenges that accompany her instrumental role with Chicago Public Schools.
