Suspect arrested in slaying of Texas delivery man

Posted: Updated:

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A suspect has been captured in the death of a San Antonio pizza delivery man who was run over by his own car as the vehicle was stolen.

San Antonio police say 35-year-old Robert Carlos Delcid (del-SEED') was being held Wednesday on a capital murder charge.

Officer Douglas Greene says Delcid was arrested Tuesday night at a motel. A gun was recovered.

Greene had no information on bond or an attorney for Delcid, who's charged in last week's death of 46-year-old William James O'Neill. O'Neill left his car running during a July 2 delivery and struggled with an attacker before being run over.

The vehicle was recovered about 20 miles away.

Greene says tips and a witness who saw a man drive off in the car helped lead to Delcid.
