CORRECTED: Slaton woman injured in Wednesday morning accident

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas DPS troopers were called to a two-vehicle accident just east of Lubbock around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The wreck happened on US 84 just east of FM 835.

Troopers say a Nissan was in the left lane attempting to pass a Mitsubishi SUV in the right lane when it collided into the left side of the Mitsubishi, causing it to go off the shoulder of US 84 and roll into a field.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, 40-year-old Erlinda Franklin of Slaton, was transported to UMC with minor injuries.

The driver of the Nissan, 25-year-old Elizabeth Khan of Irving was not injured. She was cited for Changing Lane When Unsafe.

CORRECTION: The information we originally received from DPS had the names of the drivers reversed. KCBD regrets the error
