San Antonio Crime Stopper Resigns Following Putnam Investigation

A member of San Antonio's Crime Stoppers has resigned after allegations that he kept quiet about a fatal hit and run boating collision that killed a Texas Tech graduate. 23-year-old Laura Putnam was killed on Memorial Day 2003 on Lake LBJ near Horseshoe Bay.

John Kocurek resigned last week after a San Antonio newspaper questioned why Crime Stoppers failed to ask him about the death. Kocurek was reportedly in the boat that struck Putnam. The driver of that boat, Robert Corrigan the third, pleaded guilty last month to failure to stop and render aid. He received a 6-month jail sentence and 10-years probation.
