On this the 35th anniversary of the Texas Tech medical school, that huge complex on 4th Street is about to have another growth spurt.
It was announced today in groundbreaking ceremonies that a new building is about to go up in the parking lot north of the Health Sciences Center. The $35 million dollar project will relocate the practice of family medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics and surgery. Even your eye exams will be moved from Thompson hall to this new clinic.
So, instead of walking the long halls of the Health Sciences Center, patients will have easy access to their doctors in this free standing six story clinic. The Clinical Tower/Research Center should be open for business in about two years.
