HELiOS Lightens the Load for Lung Cancer Patients

Some patients with lung disease are forced to carry an oxygen tank to breathe, and even the so-called portable ones are still heavy.

Here's what's new...it's called HELiOS, a portable, refillable, liquid oxygen system that patients can wear around the waist. Weighing just three and a half pounds, it's good for 8 to 10 hours before it has to be refilled.

"It takes that extra burden off the heart, which I mentioned. It also delivers enough oxygen to the tissue so that your peripheral tissue doesn't die,"says Dr. Neil Schachter, Mt. Sinai Medical Center.

If you'd like more information on the new HELiOS system, call the following toll-free number to learn more: 1-888-4HELIOS (888-443-5467).
