Underwood family to be honored at Hero's Luncheon

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Lubbock Area Foundation is honoring the Minnie and Arch Underwood family.

They've been named the 2014 heroes for the 15th Annual Hero's Luncheon.

The Underwoods are being recognized for their contributions to the cotton industry, along with economic development, civic organizations, charities and more.

Their grandson, Fred Underwood said, "We're very honored. I'm very honored for my grandparents, because they gave us a good, strong foundation."

The Hero's Luncheon will take place on Aug. 14.

Mayor Glen Robertson also proclaimed the day as Minnie and Arch Underwood Family Day in Lubbock.
