Littlefield radio station remains a community fixture since the 1940s

LITTLEFIELD, TX (KCBD) - AM station KZZN is a fixture in Littlefield, hitting the airwaves in the 1940s.

The station is located just northwest of town, off of Highway 84.

Cody West is the current owner and operator of KZZN and says the music format is primarily country.

The station also dedicates three hours of programing every day to agricultural news.

But, the station is known for broadcasting local high school sporting events.

“We broadcast all of the Littlefield High School sporting events and we also try to accommodate the other communities in our county because we are the only station in Lamb County. We have five school districts in the county and so much of what we do revolves around the schools," said West.

You can find KZZN at 1490 on your AM dial.

West says he makes sure to offer a heavy dose of Waylon Jennings hits.
