LSO: K-9 unit finds hydro marijuana in suspicious vehicle

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock Sheriff's Deputies found some hydro marijuana hidden in a vehicle on Thursday, after a DPS helicopter noticed suspicious behavior at 130th Street and Indiana Avenue.

LSO representatives say the helicopter spotted the suspicious car with the trunk open. The driver noticed the helicopter, shut the trunk lid and took off northbound at a high rate of speed.

Two officers stopped the car in the 3300 block of 74th Street and found it occupied by a male, a female and four young children.

The female owner signed a "Consent to Search," but nothing was found. A subsequent "open air sniff" by a K-9 revealed a hidden quantity of hydro marijuana.

The marijuana was confiscated, the male driver was arrested and taken into custody. The female passenger was released pending charges.
