Salvation Army Serves Community With Thanksgiving Dinner, Angel Tree

If cooking Thanksgiving dinner for 10 or 15 has you stressed out, imagine cooking for 400. That's exactly what the Salvation Army is doing. The Salvation Army is preparing more than a dozen turkeys for Thursday's feast. The meal will include vegetables, and plenty of homemade pies and cakes.

If you can't afford a Thanksgiving meal, you're invited to attend Thursday's serving. Crews will begin serving dinner at 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army, located at 16th and Avenue K. Dinner ends at 6 p.m.

The Salvation Army is also trying to help more than 1,500 needy children this Christmas. They're asking you to select an angel and buy a clothing item and toy the child requests. The Angel Tree will sit next to Mervyn's at the South Plains Mall until December 11th.
