Police: Fabian Rios stabbing suspects last seen in Hobbs

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police have identified two suspects in the stabbing death of 18-year-old Fabian Rios.

Noel Serrano, 18, is described as armed and dangerous, 5'3, 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Mayra J. Caraveo, 21, also considered armed and dangerous, is 5'4, 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police say the suspects were last seen in Hobbs, New Mexico hours after Rios’s death in a black Ford Explorer Sport-Trac with a small pickup bed, New Mexico license plate HNW231. 

Authorities believe they could be headed to Colorado or back to Texas. Both suspects are charged with murder.

Police were called to a home at 89th and Avenue U around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday. 

Officers found Rios stabbed in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Police say the victim is believed to have been in Lubbock for a week and was wanted for aggravated robbery in Big Spring.

According to a Facebook post by the Big Spring Howard County Crime Stoppers Rios was wanted in connection with a June 9 aggravated Robbery of Big A Shaved Ice in Big Spring. 

The Crime Stoppers were offering a $1,000 cash reward for anyone who had information about where Rios was. If you have any information you are asked to call Crime Line at 741-1000. Callers can remain anonymous.
