New TTU food truck not just for students

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Texas Tech is unveiling a fun, new food option on campus.

It's called the "Streat" food truck, and it's the first school-owned food truck on a Big 12 campus.

The truck is run by Texas Tech's hospitality staff, a branch of the "Streat Eatery" in the Student Union.

Operators plan to be open at different locations during the week.

"Right now, our plan is Monday and Wednesday, we'll be off Memorial Circle. Tuesday, Thursday we'll be at the Health Sciences Center, and on Friday we'll use social media and be at a different location every week."

David Deason with Hospitality Services says that they will take student meal plans.

But you don't have to be a student to eat at the truck. Anyone is welcome to stop by campus and try it out.
