LPD: More than $2 million embezzled from Armor Asphalt

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock police have made two arrests after the owners of Armor Asphalt reported embezzlement by one of their employees.

Paula Gail Whitley, 54 and Robert Lee Whitley, 60 have each been arrested and charged with Theft of $200,000 or more.

They say more than $2 million was embezzled.

The incident report, initially filed back in February 2013, says the suspects claimed the money was being used to pay payroll taxes to the IRS.
