LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas Tech's red hot stretch on the recruiting trail continued Saturday afternoon when 4-star offensive tackle recruit Madison Akamnonu made it known via Twitter that he's headed to Lubbock:

"It's official I have committed to Texas Tech #GoRedRaiders #TexasTech #Football."

Akamnonu chose the Red Raiders over fellow finalist Oklahoma. In doing so, he becomes the 4th blue chip recruit Texas Tech has landed in the 2015 class. Joining Jarrett Stidham, Breiden Fehoko, and fellow offensive lineman Conner Dyer.

"To be honest, Tech's been my favorite for a while," Akamnonu told WreckEm247.com. "It was just that I wanted to make sure, so that's why I went to Oklahoma. It really put it into perspective that I wanted to go to Tech."

Akamnonu is entering his senior season at Arlington Bowie High School. The 6-foot-5, 270-pounder is rated as the No. 16 offensive tackle recruit in the country by 247sports.com and is among ESPN's Top 300 players.

By landing Akamnonu for 2015, Texas Tech now has the 41st-ranked recruiting class in the country, putting them ahead of Big 12 rivals Baylor and Oklahoma.
