Town And Country Clerk Escapes Scene During Armed Robbery

A Lubbock convenience store clerk is lucky to have escaped with her life, following an armed robbery early Monday morning.

According to police reports, the clerk was cooking on the grill when the suspect entered the store. The man then ran behind the counter and hit her over the head with a gun. She turned to fight the man, but gave in to his demands by opening both registers. As he attempted to take money from the safe, she ran to the fire station down the street and called police.

Police believe the suspect was driving a stolen SUV at the time of the robbery. The vehicle is described as a white 2004 Ford Escape, with Texas plates Y07PXZ .
