Habitat for Humanity 'Summer Blowout Sale' to continue through Aug. 23

Provided by Lubbock Habitat for Humanity

For anyone in the market for gently used furniture Lubbock Habitat's “Summer Blowout Sale” continues Aug. 13 through Aug. 23.

The donation of approximately 500 pieces of bedroom furniture has supplemented the remaining pieces of gently used furniture donated earlier from University Trails Apartments. Lubbock Truck Sales again donated the moving equipment and a driver and finally, the Gene Messer Automotive Group donated the use of their previous dealership location at 3907 Avenue Q. Lubbock Habitat's “Summer Blowout Sale continues August 13 through August 23. Hours of operation are 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. New items received are chest of drawers, night stands, and computer desk. Remaining items from the earlier sale, dining tables and chairs; sofas, side chairs, coffee tables, and end tables, will also be available for purchase.

“Thanks to generous support of University Trails, Lubbock Truck Sales and Gene Messer, Lubbock citizens, Habitat's first summer blow-out sale was very successful. Habitat is very appreciative for this support and encourages everyone to come and check out the new donation,” stated Marie Hanza, Executive Director of Lubbock Habitat for Humanity. “The money raised by these furniture sales will help Lubbock Habitat continue to work towards the elimination of poverty house in Lubbock. Because of the generous donations from the Gene Messer Auto Group, Lubbock Truck Sales and Service, and University Trails Apartments, our expenses are being kept to a minimum. Lubbock Habitat very much appreciates the support given by these Lubbock businesses,” Hanza concluded.

Due to the size of the two donations, the “Summer Blowout Sale” had to be moved to a different facility instead of the ReStore's permanent location at 2910 Avenue N. The facility is always open to the public Wednesday through Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The ReStore is stocked with a variety of building supplies and furniture. Currently the ReStore has a wide assortment of new doors and windows for sale in addition to new flooring and gently used furniture and appliances. During this “Summer Blowout Sale” the ReStore will be closed.
