Ten states allow marijuana for medical purposes. On Monday, the nation's Supreme Court took up the issue to determine whether the states can decide or if the federal government has the final word. The case before the high court centers on two California women who claim marijuana provides the best relief for incredible pain.
"It was literally miraculous. It really brought me back to my kids," says Angel Raich, who takes marijuana for a brain tumor.
"I've had spasms for several years that can be very painful and debilitating," says Diane Monson, who takes marijuana for back spasms.
Here in Lubbock, medical marijuana is a prescription you'll find at almost every pharmacy.
