LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - One man is in custody after a police chase Tuesday afternoon.

Police say a traffic stop was initiated in the 1100 block of 34th Street around 3 p.m. when the suspect led police on a chase and then fled his vehicle on foot.

They say the suspect ran down an alley, jumped over several fences and was observed by witnesses running into a residence in the 1500 block of 36th street.

Police say the resident consented to a search of the home where the suspect, 26-year-old Christopher Lawson, was found hiding in a bathtub.

They say after a brief struggle Lawson was taken into custody.
