LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An inmate who escaped from the Lubbock County Detention Center Wednesday night is back in custody.

Lieutenant Bryan Taylor said Ygnacio Rodriguez, 19, was working trash detail inside the jail fence when he fled the property on foot.

He said the escape was reported at 10:20 p.m.

Officers arrested Rodriguez around 3:40 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 2100 Block of 58th Street.Rodriguez was in jail on charges of burglary of a habitation. He now faces escape charges.

30-year-old Joshue Elizondo and Nina Garcia, 24, were both taken into custody along with Ygnacio Rodriguez Thursday morning.

Deputies believe Garcia is Rodriguez' sister. Nina Garcia and Joshue Elizondo are charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon.

Sheriff Kelly Rowe says Rodriguez was a part of a working inmate program that included janitorial work at the detention center after other inmates had gone to bed.

Rowe also says the fence Rodriguez jumped over did not have barbed wire on the top.
