(RNN) – The citizens and protesters in Ferguson, MO speaking against the shooting death of Michael Brown are getting messages of support from halfway across the world – in Palestine.

Many Palestinians are currently caught between the exchanged rocket fire Israel and the terrorist group Hamas. Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem began tweeting with the hashtag #Ferguson and #Palestine, in reference to the St. Louis suburb where Brown, 18, was shot and killed during an incident with a police officer.

The tweets from Palestinians include tips on how to remedy being hit with tear gas.

“Solidarity with #Ferguson. Remember to not touch your face when teargased or put water on it. Instead use milk or coke,” Miriam Berghouti, a Palestinian in the West Bank tweeted on Wednesday.

Several parallels have been drawn between foreign conflicts and what's occurring in Ferguson, especially with the tactics of police and how media covering the events.

Since Brown's death on Aug. 9, the following days have seen riots and looting on Sunday, and protests throughout the week, including nighttime protests where citizens in the street were met with warnings to go home, followed by canisters of tear gas, ear-piercing sirens and rubber bullets.

On Wednesday night, KARG Argus Radio showed the police response to nighttime protests using militaristic tactics and weaponry against the crowds.

The fourth day of unrest in Ferguson, MO included the arrests of two reporters, Ryan Reilly of The Huffington Post and Wesley Lowrey of The Washington Post after police forcibly removed them from a McDonald's near the areas of protests. St. Louis Alderman Antonio French was held in jail after being arrested on Wednesday night.

An Al-Jazeera America camera crew had tear gas canisters fired at them during police action and later, police were seen taking their equipment down.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon announced that the Missouri State Patrol would take over securing the streets of Ferguson, beginning Thursday. Meanwhile, the FBI and the Department of Justice have begun paralleled investigations to the one being conducted by the St. Louis Police Department.
