Kingsbury takes Ice Bucket Challenge, calls on Beyonce to do the same

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Texas Tech Head Football Coach Kliff Kingsbury took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but not alone.  He gathered the team as well as Raider Red, the Masked Rider and the Tech Spirit Squads.

He then called on former Red Raiders and current Denver Broncos Wes Welker, Manny Ramirez, and Louis Vasquez to do the same.  Kingsbury also called on Texas native Beyonce to take the challenge.

According to the ALS Association they raised $4 million in donations between July 29th and August 12th.  That's compared to $1.12 million during the same time period last year.

ALS Association members say they are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from those people who have been doused, made a donation, or both. Contributions further The Association's mission to find a cure for ALS while funding the highest quality of care for people living with the disease.
