LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The driver of a reportedly stolen motorcycle is behind bars tonight, charged with intoxication assault.

The accident happened near 98th and Quaker around 7:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police say 22-year-old Clint Aston was turning onto 98th when he hit some water in the road and lost control.

His passenger, 29-year-old Crystal Garcia fell off the bike, striking her head.

She was taken to UMC with serious head injuries.

Police say Aston appeared to be having some sort of psychotic episode and may have been under the influence of an unknown substance at the time of the crash.

He was taken into custody and is currently in the Lubbock County Detention Center charged with intoxication assault.

Police say the owner of the bike called authorities and reported the bike stolen.
