Texas Mutual Insurance donates $1,100 worth of school supplies

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A special donation made Tuesday will make sure students at Waters Elementary in Lubbock are ready for school.

Texas Mutual Insurance Company donated $1,100 worth of supplies.

Workers collected the items as part of a community service project that they do each quarter.

Laura Truelock with Texas Mutual Insurance said, "I was really surprised and thankful and glad our people still have the heart to give as much as they did."

Principal Karen Thornton said, "If it weren't for people like this that have such wonderful community relationships, we couldn't do the job that we do."

The donated supplies will be given to children in need on the first day of school.
