Members create their own profile within the site, obtain guidance from marketing professionals as well as have access to HIPAA and OSHA compliance resources.

Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) August 21, 2014

The American Med Spa Association (AmSpa) is pleased to announce their redesigned website premiering new user-friendly features, streamlined content and a more accessible format. Members will be kept up to date on their state's rules and regulations within the medical spa industry, create their own profile page within the site and connect with industry colleagues to share expertise, build a knowledge base and advertise their services.

"Med spa owners and industry professionals have complained for years about a lack of information relative to what med spas can and cannot do," said Alex Thiersch, founder and director of AmSpa. "It was often impossible to locate even basic information on regulatory issues because the laws in each state are confusing and difficult to find."

AmSpa's state law summaries can be found on their website, http://www.americanmedspa.org. They provide the answers to questions such as, "Who can own a med spa?", "Who can inject Botox?", and "Does a physician need to see every patient prior to treatment?"

Industry professionals can click on their particular state and find a list of commonly asked regulatory questions related to that state. Each state page provides dedicated resources such as local industry news, legislative updates, and webinars prepared by industry professionals in that state.

"AmSpa is already the best resource available for information and news in the med spa industry," Gina Meyer-Shaffer, Director of Marketing said. "We are continually searching for relevant stories and information to provide our members. The state-law summaries take the site to another level, providing a resource that has been missing in this industry and desperately needed."

In addition, the website hosts an online calendar of industry events and training courses, as well as upcoming AmSpa programs. One can register online for these workshops that not only cover the legal and regulatory issues within the medical spa industry but also cover HIPAA and OSHA compliance within a med spa, the anatomy of a successful medical spa and knowing your audience, how to increase your patient base and revenues through website & social media, the best ways to structure the med spa for tax reduction and wealth building, as well as the how/when and why of firing and much more.

The workshops also have a staff concierge and practice building program that will increase a medical spa's revenues immediately as well as offers the CME monograph Risk Management for the Practicing Physician, an enduring material certified nationally for 5.5 Category I CME hours.

A two-hour networking reception follows each of these three upcoming regional programs. Fore more information, visit the AmSpa website.
