Funeral services set for 13-year-old killed in rollover accident

Funeral services how now been set for a Scurry County boy killed in a rollover accident Wednesday morning.

Troopers with the Department of Public Safety say Joshua Gilbert, 13 was driving on a county road south of Hermleigh when he went off the road, over-corrected, and rolled the vehicle several times.

Gilbert was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene.

A visitation service is scheduled for Friday night from 6 to 7 p.m. at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home in Snyder. His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church in Hermleigh.

According to his obituary, Gilbert was born in Lubbock and would have been an 8th grader this year. His family says he was looking forward to playing football for the Hermleigh Cardinals.
