Around 5:30 Tuesday evening, a DPS Trooper stopped Joe Neff about seven miles North of Tahoka on U.S. Highway 87. Neff got out of his pickup, but then jumped back in, and sped off. In Tahoka, DPS officials say Neff swerved at a trooper attempting to stop his truck with road spikes. Neff missed the trooper and drove four more miles even though the spikes blew out one of his tires.
Troopers finally caught him when he stopped in a pasture. Neff is charged with DUI, Assault on a Public Servant, and Evading Arrest.
