3 injured in wreck at 70th & University

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Three people have been taken to the hospital after a wreck at 70th Street and University on Wednesday afternoon.

Our crew on the scene says three vehicles were involved, a white Chevy Tahoe, a black Chevy Equinox, and a white Hyundai Sonata.

The Hyundai Sonata was exiting the Dairy Queen parking lot at 70th and University, and police say the driver failed to yield the right of way to a white Tahoe headed southbound on University.

The Tahoe clipped the Hyundai and spun around into a black Equinox that was headed northbound on University.

A female passenger from the Tahoe was ejected. That person went to UMC with serious, but non life-threatening injures.

A passenger in the black Equinox also went to the hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injures.

The driver of the Equinox went to the hospital with less serious injuries.

Northbound traffic on University was rerouted to turn right on 70th Street.

We'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
