Lubbock City Council to discuss property taxes, bond election

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Lubbock City Council is meeting Thursday afternoon and some big items are on the agenda.

The council will hold a public hearing on a proposal to raise property tax rates by up to 2.5 cents.

Council members will also discuss holding a bond election which could include tornado sirens and a new police station.

The meeting starts at at 5:15 p.m. at Lubbock City Hall.
